When it's Christmas again,
Sleigh bells ring, and children cheer.
The Mothers hang stockings, and the Dads drink the beer!
When it's Christmas again,
The lights go on, and the snow starts to fall,
for everyone loves, to answer the Christmas call.
Good dreams breathe, and stars burn bright.
Share the food, see the love in every bite.
When it's Christmas again.
Peace on earth, goodwill to your neighbour,
And enjoy the time without labour,
when it's Christmas time again,
The wind turns cold, but hearts remain warm,
You fall asleep, and hope Santa comes by Dawn.
Exchanging gifts, sharing the love.
Wrapping up warm, and finding your missing glove.
When it's Christmas time again.
For me, it is not the presents, the snow or the lights,
or even the food or snowball fights.
It is simply spending time with the people I care about,
and you are the sleigh in my snow, have no doubt.

For being with you, brings to my face, a happy tear.
And like want is your smile this year.

Hello everyone, it's Christmas time, so I thought I would upload a lovely Christmas poem for you all to read. This came about entirely accidentally, as I was sending a Christmas card to a friend through the website moonpig, and decided to try and write a poem for her to cheer her up. We met each other in hospital, and kept each other going when the other was down. Despite what she means to me however, the poem did not turn out that great.
I am not that proud of this poem, because although I really tried with it, it still ended up a little rushed, and more importantly, it turns out it's actually really difficult to make a poem sound powerful, when your subject is something positive. A few cheesy lines in it, but overall I think it's okay, or at least the best I could do when writing about something positive, without using too many Christmas cliches.
Anyway, please comment, and would appreciate any suggestions for improvement.
